Our young leaders were challenged at the Hillary Outdoors Education Centre this week, starting with adventure-based learning (ABL) activities to build on their teamwork skills. These included bush bashing, river crossing, and setting up a tent blindfolded – relying solely on the guidance of their teammates’ voices.
Over the week there has been a strong focus on students building resilience and leadership qualities with challenging outdoor activities. Several students overcame their fear of heights on the high ropes course and discovered the thrill of whitewater kayaking down the rapids! A highlight of their trip was an overnight hiking expedition which included caving, abseiling and sleeping in the great outdoors.
Thanks to Miss Bayangos and Mr Cameron for organising and taking our students on this epic adventure!
