Congratulations to Year 13 student Merry, whose artwork was selected for the 2024 . Educators from Auckland Art Gallery visited participating secondary schools to judge senior student’s artwork for the awards. This year’s theme is Tōku Tūrangawaewae – my place to stand. Tūrangawaewae is a place of ancestral connections and empowerment, a place one can call home. Merry’s artwork ‘Food for Thought’ is the embodiment of this and showcases Filipino dishes from her hometown of Dinagat Island, Philippines.
Merry’s artwork will be on display at Auckland Art Gallery until Sunday 13 October as part of the Pat Hanly Creativity Awards exhibition. Go along and check it out!
