Matariki is the Māori name for the star cluster known as the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters. To observe the rising of Matariki, heralding the beginning of the Māori New Year, we celebrate the event with whanau and friends.
This year our celebrations are focusing on Māori rongoā – Māori medicine, including learning how to make Kawakawa oil.
