During the first week of the school holidays year 13 students Maddy, Grace, Shannon, Izzy, Kaitlyn and Kate took part in a four day leadership camp in Rotorua thanks to the Future Leaders programme.
This four year mentoring programme, run by the YWCA and facilitated here at Henderson High School, focuses on developing leadership abilities in young women. As well as taking part in workshops and forums during the week, students got to experience Rotorua – riding the gondola, racing down the luge to name but a few.
Maddy described the experience as a great way to develop leadership skills, as well as providing some fun and travel before students have to buckle down for final exams.
